Everything was spotless and in great repair. The location is perfect for exploring the historical district. Loved the location, the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the parlour area and the wine and nibbles reception with entertainment. The waiter serving at this was so nice and welcoming, a credit to the hotel, he was a gentleman. Bedroom was so comfy and immaculately clean. Fun, quirky, and a little bit different, the guest rooms at The Marshall House have a unique style that you just won't find in a new hotel.

However, this upper-middle-range property has some of the drawbacks common to old buildings, such as noise issues, small rooms and bathrooms, and few amenities.

Today, there’s an 1830s portrait of Mary in the reception area welcoming guests to her hotel. On the hotel's third floor, you'll find a collection of historic artifacts from the original Marshall House.

Don’t miss the 45 Bistro, which offers a seasonal menu and an extensive wine list. We loved the daily free musical entertainment and happy hour. There was lots of choice and no limits on quantity. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
